What’s behind the name?
Silvan (from the latin silvanus) means ‘living or located in the woods or forest’.
We believe your home is an ecosystem, just like a woodland. A habitat that conserves and produces energy, manages waste, produces food, and a vibrant community of living things where stories happen.
With this analogy in mind we design your project as a whole, including the implications of cost, approvals and regulations.
We move from sustainability simply relying on a building’s efficiency, to a focus first on doing things sufficiency.
