Valley view loft
For our clients, this project is all about personality: expressing themselves through their home and to inspire and bring joy. We needed to achieve something special whilst overcoming the technical issues of an existing trussed roof structure and an open plan ground floor needing fire protection.
Externally this project had to think outside the typical ugly tile hung box. However, the council were concerned about the visibility of the house across the valley in the UNESCO heritage city of Bath, and pre-application advice guided us in the direction of the status quo. So, we surrendered and proposed tile - beautiful handmade arrowhead clay tiles in a crafted palette of browns and reds.
As you ascend the stairs you get a glimpse of those amazing views across the valley through the floor to ceiling joinery, before it opens up in front of you.
18 months later our clients still haven’t installed blinds.

“Our main reason for bringing you on board was we wanted a space that would be in our own voice. Jenny listened and understood our needs. We felt supported which gave us confidence.
Jenny created new spaces that maximised every element of space and light. Working within the constraints of various building regulations you designed an extension of our living space that works for our family and reflects our personality.”

We now have a house that has moments of beauty. On the inside we have some fabulous spaces that take your breath away. On the outside we exude style and personality. Everyone says “wow” and we get to live here and experience the space every day. We feel very lucky.
